Accessibility Statement
What we do to keep this site usable for everyone, what we know is not finished, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
Last updated September 15, 2026
1. Our commitment
We want anyone thinking about a pool to be able to use this website, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard, a magnifier or other assistive technology. Accessibility is part of how we build and maintain the site rather than a job we did once.
2. The standard we work to
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, as our target. WCAG sets out how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities.
3. Where we stand
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that most of the site meets the standard and some parts do not meet it yet. We are working toward full conformance and we fix problems as we find them. We do not claim that the site is fully conformant, or that it is free of barriers.
4. What we have built in
- We build pages with semantic HTML, so that headings run in order and a screen reader can move between landmarks.
- We put a skip link at the start of each page, so a keyboard user can jump to the main content.
- We design every interactive element to work with a keyboard, and to show a visible outline when it has focus.
- We set text and interface colours against measured contrast targets that meet the Level AA minimum, and we correct failures as we find them.
- We honour the reduced motion setting in your operating system. With it on, animation stops and the background video does not play.
- We give form fields a visible label, mark the required ones, and announce the result of sending the form to a screen reader.
- We write alternative text for photographs that describes what is in them, and hide decorative images from assistive technology.
- We serve our fonts from our own site, so text still renders when outside services are blocked.
- We let text reflow when you zoom in or use a small screen, and keep line lengths short enough to read comfortably.
5. What we know is not finished
- The background video on the home page. It is decorative, silent and muted, it is hidden from assistive technology, and it shows nothing that the heading and the still image behind it do not already say. On that basis it carries no captions and no transcript. It does not play at all when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Services from other companies. The spam check on the quote form and our analytics are supplied by other companies. We do not control their code and cannot guarantee that it meets the standard.
- Pages that are not ours. Our Google Business Profile and the state contractor licence lookup are run by other organisations, and their accessibility is theirs to manage.
- No outside audit. No independent accessibility auditor has reviewed this site.
6. Browsers and assistive technology
The site is built to work with current versions of the major desktop and mobile browsers, used with the screen readers and other assistive technology those browsers support. We do not test on browsers that are no longer maintained, and an older browser may not render the site as intended.
Accessibility here relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA and SVG. Where a browser does not support one of those, part of the site may not work as described.
7. How we assessed the site
We assessed this site ourselves. The people who build and maintain it reviewed it against WCAG 2.1 Level AA using a mix of automated checks and manual testing with a keyboard and a screen reader. The most recent review was in September 2026. No outside organisation has audited the site.
8. Tell us about a problem
If part of this site is hard to use, or something stops you reaching information you need, tell us. We will help you directly and fix what we can.
Email us at supremepoolsincc@gmail.com, call (831) 998-1779, or use the form on our contact page. You can also write to Supreme Pools, 125 Winham St, Salinas, CA 93901.
It helps if you tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within five business days. If you would rather not use the site at all, call us and we will answer your questions about a pool over the phone.
9. Updates to this statement
We update this statement as we improve the site and as the standard changes. The date at the top shows when we last reviewed it.
This statement describes what we are doing and what we know about the site today. It is for information. It is not a warranty or a guarantee, and it does not create rights beyond those the law already gives you.
