About Supreme Pools

What we are

Supreme Pools builds custom concrete pools and spas from bare ground, remodels tired ones back to the shell, repairs equipment when it fails, and maintains the water week to week. The business is based at 125 Winham St in Salinas, and the trucks run from the Monterey Peninsula out through the Salinas Valley, north around the bay into Santa Cruz County, and east to Hollister and Gilroy.

We hold California contractor licence number 1079748, classification C-53 Swimming Pool. That classification matters more than it looks: C-53 is the licence the state issues specifically for constructing swimming pools, spas and hot tubs and the trades that go with it. You can verify it yourself in about thirty seconds through the Contractors State License Board, and you should — for us and for anyone else you are considering.

The owner is Austin. If you have a pool with us, you will know who he is, because he answers the phone.

How we work

One contractor handles the whole job. The excavation, the steel, the plumbing, the shell, the tile, the deck, the equipment, the finish and the startup — then the service visits afterwards. That is not a boast about craftsmanship; it is about where things go wrong. Most pool problems live in the gaps between trades who never spoke to each other, and having one licence responsible from the first stake to the first swim closes those gaps.

It also means the crew that starts your equipment is the crew that plumbed it. When something needs attention in year three, the people coming out know what is under the deck because they put it there.

We would rather tell you something is a bad idea than sell it to you. If a vanishing edge will not read on your lot, if resurfacing is the sensible answer instead of a full remodel, if the honest advice is to wait a year — we will say so. It costs us a job occasionally and it has never cost us a client.

Where this site gets its information

Most pool-company websites recycle the same paragraphs about permits, safety law and water rules, and a good deal of it is out of date or was never right. We took a different approach: every statutory, licensing and permitting claim on this site is traced to an official source — the California legislature, the Contractors State License Board, the Energy Commission, the Department of Water Resources, or the city or county that actually issues the permit — and each page carries those sources with the date we last confirmed them.

Where we could not verify something from a primary source, it is not on the site. That is why you will find us naming the department to ask rather than quoting a setback figure that may have changed, and it is a deliberate choice: a stale number stated confidently is worse than no number at all.
